VCA appoints Head Coach for Ranji and Sr. Womens’ Team

VCA appoints former India player and well-known coach Mr.Chandrakant Pandit as the Head Coach of VCA Ranji Team. The President Mr.Anand Jaiswal and Vice President Mr.Prashant Vaidya have said that Chandrakant Pandit brings with him loads of coaching experience and his contribution to the VCA cricket will be immense. Chandrakant Pandit has accepted his appointment and will join from 1st August 2017.

VCA has received today evening the resignation of its Ranji coach Mr.Paras Mhambrey, upon his appointment as India Under-19 bowling coach. The Executive Committee of VCA has placed on record its appreciation for Paras’s contribution to VCA’s cricket and has wished him success in his next assignment.

In tune with its policy of employing best cricketers as professionals, VCA is also very proud to announce the appointment of Karn Sharma, India Test / Railway & IPL Playeras its professional for the next season. Karn’s profile fits into VCA’s requirements said Mr.Prashant Vaidya and his presence will enhance the performance of our players.

In line with appointing the best coaches, VCA is pleased to appoint Ms.Anju Jain, India’s former wicket keeper/batswomen as the Senior Coach of the VCA Women’s Team. Anju is a former India Women’s Coach and Selector and her credentials will immensely help the women cricketers of VCA informs the President Mr.Anand Jaiswal.

The VCA cricket season opens with 2 four day practice matches against Hyderabad to be played at Hyderabad from 24th July’17 onwards. This will be followed by Dr.M.N.Dorairajan Tournament and the prestigious Bapuna Cup will be played from 14th September’17 onwards. The Bapuna cup is in its 22nd year and provides a platform to the VCA players to showcase their talent against some prominent visiting teams which this year, will be in the forms of Mumbai Cricket Association and Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association.

It is also proposed that VCA Women’s team will visit some state for their practice matches.

Guzder League ‘A’ Division will be played on a 2-day league format and this will give more exposure to the local Club players to showcase their performance.

School Cricket has been identified as the foundation for future VCA players and school league on the pattern of Giles Cup will be played involving Nagpur and district school teams.
