FAIZ SELECTED IN INDIAN TEAM FOR ZIMBABWE TOUR
Faiz Yakub Fazal born on 7th Sept’ 1985 made his first class debut for Vidarbha in the season 2003-04 at Nagpur. In his Ranji debut match against Jammu & Kashmir he scored 151 runs and achieved the rare distinction to score a century on debut. At that time he was just 18 years old. In first class cricket he has scored 11 centuries, 10 in Ranji Trophy and 1 in Irani Cup match played against Mumbai recently. While in the domestic limited overs cricket he has 5 centuries to his credit, 4 in Vijay Hazare One Dayers while 1 in Deodhar Trophy. He has captained Vidarbha Ranji Trophy Team also. Vidarbha has won the Samna Trophy (Under-14) conducted by Mumbai Cricket Association in the year 1999-2000 under his Captainship. He has also captained Under-19 Vidarbha Team in Cooch Behar.

He was part of the Rajasthan Royals Team in the year 2010 -11 & 2011-12. He had a strike rate of 97.13 and scored 183 runs in 12 matches the highest being 45 against Kings XI Punjab.

During the last season while playing in Duleep trophy for central Zone he scored 47 and 74 runs. While in the Deodhar Trophy representing India A he scored a century in the finals and went on to win the Man of the Match Award and in the recently concluded Irani trophy match while playing for Rest of India he scored 127 runs and incidentally he was part of the team in all the three winning matches . At present he is in England playing Club Cricket and recently he has scored a century in the match played between Hetton Lyons vs South Northumberland on 14thMay, 2016.
